Hon. Dr. Shirani Bandaranayake, CJHon Dr. Shirani Bandaranayake, has been appointed as the 43rd Chief Justice of Sri Lanka on 18th May 2011. Her Ladyship becomes the first female Chief Justice of Sri Lanka. Chief Justice Dr. Bandaranayake, a member of the Judicial Services Commission, was an Associate Professor of Law and the Dean of the Faculty of Law at the University of Colombo prior to her appointment to the Supreme Court in 1996.
